| Obverse description | Red letterpress on a light grey guilloche underprint, the note carries the issuer inscription 'Kreis Hofgeismar' at top in Gothic script, below which 'Gut für' introduces the denomination '10 Milliarden Mark' printed in large bold red Gothic lettering at centre. A serial number in red appears at upper right, the redemption clause 'Einzulösen bei der Kreissparkasse Hofgeismar' runs across the lower centre, and the issue date 'Hofgeismar, 11. Aug. 1923' together with the authorising body 'Der Kreisausschuß:' and manuscript signatures appear at the foot. The border consists of a red ornamental frame of repeating geometric motifs. |
