| Reverse description | The large numeral 1 dominates the central field, with the currency abbreviation ZŁ (złoty) positioned immediately below. The word PRÓBA (meaning 'trial' or 'pattern') is inscribed vertically to the right of the numeral, identifying this piece as a pattern strike. Two olive or laurel branches frame the denomination on either side, their stems crossing and tied at the base to form a wreath-like arrangement. The same decorative scalloped border present on the obverse encircles the entire reverse design. |

| Additional information |
Poland's postwar coinage reform of 1949 scrapped the prewar designs entirely, replacing them with imagery aligned with the new communist government's visual language. Trial strikes in nickel were produced during the evaluation process before aluminum was selected as the production composition — a cost-driven decision consistent with Soviet-bloc monetary policy of the period. The aluminum 1 Złoty entered circulation that same year; the nickel trials did not.
