| Obverse description | Steel-grey intaglio print on cream paper. The central text panel carries the large inscriptions BILET PAŃSTWOWY and JEDEN ZŁOTY above the issue date WARSZAWA 1 PAŹDZIERNIKA 1938 R., with printed signature lines for the Minister Skarbu and Dyrektor Departamentu Obrotu Pieniężnego, and a red serial number below. To the right, an oval vignette contains an engraved portrait of a medieval Polish king wearing a crown, rendered in fine intaglio lines. The left portion of the note bears a vertical decorative element with the Polish eagle within an oval cartouche, framed by elaborate guilloche borders; numeral 1 appears at the top and bottom margins. |

The upper border carries the inscription BILET PAŃSTWOWY and the lower border reads JEDEN ZŁOTY, both set within wave-pattern bands. Corner numerals 1 and vertical ornamental cartouches complete the geometric design. |
