The zlotnik was a pre-metric unit of weight used across the Russian Empire, equal to roughly 4.266 grams, and its revival here as a denomination name is a deliberate nod to Ukrainian numismatic heritage rather than any functional currency unit — these brass pieces circulate as collectibles, not tender.
