Christ raises his right hand in benediction and holds the Gospels in his left. The surrounding Latin legend, a votive inscription invoking Christ as ruler, encircles the entire composition in the outer border, consistent with the reverse type used on Venetian zecchini throughout the Republic's coinage. |
