| Obverse description | The obverse features the left-facing bust of Yuan Shikai in military uniform, occupying the central field in the style characteristic of the so-called 'Fat Man dollar' type. A circular Chinese legend arcs around the upper periphery reading 'Year 3 of the Republic of China' (中華民國三年), with the character 三 (three) prominently positioned to the lower left of the effigy. A rectangular countermark bearing the characters 蘇維埃 (Soviet) has been applied to the right field, distinguishing this piece as an officially sanctioned issue of the Szechuan-Shensi Soviet authority. The coin's surface shows the denticulated border characteristic of milled coinage of the period. The overall design retains the host coin's engraving by Luigi Giorgi, with the countermark applied as an authorizing overstrike. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays the denomination 壹圓 (One Yuan) in two large Chinese characters arranged vertically within the central field, enclosed by a symmetrical wreath of grain or floral sprigs tied at the base, their branches sweeping upward to frame the inscription. The wreath is rendered in fine relief with detailed leaf forms, consistent with the standard Yuan Shikai dollar reverse design. A continuous denticulated border runs along the inner edge of the reeded rim. The field is otherwise plain, allowing the denomination characters to dominate the composition in a bold, legible manner. |
