| Obverse description | Central field dominated by four large Chinese characters reading 光緒元寶 (Guangxu Yuanbao, meaning 'Guangxu Original Currency') arranged in a quadrant format within a beaded inner circle. Small Manchu script characters appear between the main legends at the cardinal points. Surrounding the beaded circle, a continuous outer legend in Chinese characters reads the provincial name, reign year, and denomination (安徽省造二十三年庫平七錢二分), with the engraver's initials A.S. and T.C. visible within the inner field. The coin is struck with a reeded border and features a flat, unadorned field typical of late Qing provincial pattern issues. |
