正面描述	Dark grey intaglio-printed note with an intricate guilloche border. At left, an oval vignette contains a portrait of Sun Yat-sen in a mandarin collar jacket, surrounded by fine engine-turned ornamental scrollwork. The central vignette presents a detailed architectural view of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing, rendered with perspective along a grand axial stairway leading to the memorial hall. Two red seal stamps appear in the lower centre, flanking the serial number printed in red at lower left and lower right, with the denomination characters 壹圓 in an oval guilloche cartouche at right.

背面描述	Printed in dark purple and black on a pale yellow-green guilloche underprint, the reverse is dominated by a large central rosette composed of interlocking lathe-work rings surrounding an ornate numeral "1" above the legend "ONE YUAN" in serif capitals. The word "THE CENTRAL RESERVE BANK OF CHINA" appears in white lettering on a solid black banner across the top. Numerals "1" occupy each of the four corners within floral guilloche cartouches, and two facsimile signatures are printed in the lower portion — Vice Governor at lower left and Governor at lower right — above the year date "1940" set in the bottom border.
