| Description du revers | The entire reverse field is filled with a multi-line commemorative inscription in elegant Nasta'liq script, recording the occasion of Nāṣer al-Dīn Shāh's third return journey from Europe and the striking of this coin at the auspicious Iranian Mint. A small imperial crown device appears at the top of the inscription above the text. The inscription is enclosed within a broad wreath of olive branches extending around the full circumference of the coin, with the Hijri date ۱۳۰۷ appearing at the base of the field. The toothed milled border frames the entire design. |

Struck to commemorate Nāṣer al-Dīn Shāh's third and final European tour in 1889–1890, this piece was produced as a presentation issue rather than a circulating coin — its weight alone placed it far outside everyday commerce. The visit itself was partly a fundraising exercise, with the Shāh granting concessions to foreign powers, including the infamous Tobacco Régie to a British syndicate, a decision that triggered a nationwide boycott and fatwa within a year of his return.
KM#918 is scarce in any condition, but surviving examples in lower grades are almost always attributable to later handling rather than circulation.
