The shah's characteristic mustache and beard are rendered in fine relief. | Reverse description | The entire reverse field is filled with a multi-line commemorative inscription in elegant Nasta'liq script, recording the occasion of Nāṣer al-Dīn Shāh's third return journey from Europe and the striking of this coin at the auspicious Iranian Mint. A small imperial crown device appears at the top of the inscription above the text. The inscription is enclosed within a broad wreath of olive branches extending around the full circumference of the coin, with the Hijri date ۱۳۰۷ appearing at the base of the field. The toothed milled border frames the entire design. |
