Reverse description A winged Victory personification stands facing left, holding a long ribbon or wreath in her extended hand, with a star placed to the right in the field. The figure is rendered in the schematic style typical of late Ostrogothic tremisses struck at Ravenna in the name of Justinian I. A Latin legend encircles the design, and the exergue bears the mint control mark COMOB, the standard gold purity and Constantinople reference mark used throughout late Roman and early Byzantine coinage.
