| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crude facing bust of a ruler depicted in a highly stylized, barbaric manner, the torso divided into ten sections rendered as a grid or ladder pattern, suggesting a draped or segmented garment. The head is shown frontally with schematic facial features and what appears to be a diademed or helmeted crown. The letter B appears prominently to the right of the bust in the field. | Beschrijving keerzijde | Central cross pattée rendered in a highly stylized and degenerate fashion, flanked by two annulets or circular pellet groups in the field, the whole encircled by a beaded border. The design is characteristic of late Lombard tremisses, where the reverse cross motif — ultimately derived from Byzantine prototypes — has been reduced to a schematic, almost abstract form. A degenerate pseudo-legend of degraded Latin letterforms surrounds the central device, no longer legible as a coherent inscription. |
