| Obverse description | Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed imperial bust facing right, rendered in the late antique Byzantine style typical of Lombard imitative coinage. The effigy is set within a beaded border and encircled by a Latin legend reading D N IVSTI - NVS PP AVC, identifying the ruler as Dominus Noster Justinus Perpetuus Augustus. The portrait, while derivative of Byzantine prototypes associated with Justin II, exhibits the characteristic stylistic degeneration common to Lombard workshop production of the late sixth and seventh centuries. |
