Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Emperor Anthemius facing right, rendered in a barbarous imitative style characteristic of late 5th-century Germanic tremisses. The effigy displays a pearl diadem and cuirassed shoulders, with the facial features simplified and stylized relative to official imperial prototypes. A blundered Latin legend surrounds the bust, partially legible as D N ANTHEMIVS followed by a degraded letter. The overall engraving reflects the hand of a non-imperial workshop adapting Roman iconographic conventions.
