The effigy is rendered in the late antique Roman imperial tradition, with fine detailing on the drapery and beaded ornamentation. The surrounding Latin legend reads D N ANASTA - SIVS PP AVG, distributed on either side of the bust. The flan is irregular, as characteristic of hammered Ostrogothic tremisses struck in the name of the Eastern emperor. |
