Beschrijving voorzijde Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Anastasius I facing right, wearing a pearl diadem with pendant strands and an elaborately decorated paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the late antique Roman imperial tradition, with fine detailing on the drapery and beaded ornamentation. The surrounding Latin legend reads D N ANASTA - SIVS PP AVG, distributed on either side of the bust. The flan is irregular, as characteristic of hammered Ostrogothic tremisses struck in the name of the Eastern emperor.
Schrift voorzijde Latin

Beschrijving keerzijde Standing figure of Victory facing left, winged and draped, advancing with wings spread, holding a long jeweled cross in the right hand and a globus cruciger in the left. A six-pointed star appears to the left in the field, and the mint mark MD (for Mediolanum/Milan) is placed centrally between the figure's legs. The circular legend VICTORIA AVGVSTORON surrounds the design, with CONOB in the exergue within a linear border, attesting to the gold standard of Constantinople. The overall style reflects the Ostrogothic workshop's adaptation of imperial Byzantine iconography.
