Reverse description A large long cross pattée divides the reverse field into four quadrants, each containing a portion of the inner legend MONETA COLONIE arranged around a central quatrefoil or annulet. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, beyond which the outer legend SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTVM (Blessed be the name of the Lord) runs in Gothic lettering between two concentric beaded borders. The design follows the standard tournois typology, adapting the gros tournois format widely adopted by Rhenish ecclesiastical mints during the early 14th century. The execution is bold and characteristic of Cologne workshop production.
