Beschrijving keerzijde Small crowned imperial double-headed eagle displayed at center, with a circular orb on the breast bearing the denomination mark Z4, identifying the coin as a Reichsthaler equivalent to 72 Kreuzer. The peripheral legend in Latin names the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II, with the regnal date positioned at the end of the legend. The eagle's wings are spread and the design is executed in the conventional style of Imperial coinage, affirming the coin's status as an officially sanctioned Reichsthaler within the Holy Roman Empire.

Aanvullende informatie

Brunswick-Grubenhagen was among the smallest and most financially precarious of the Guelph partition territories, and the joint rule of Wolfgang and Philip II reflected a dynasty scraping to maintain coherence across a shrinking domain. The principality had no significant silver resources of its own; these thalers were struck from bullion sourced externally, which partly explains the relatively narrow emission window across nearly a decade of joint reign.

Welter 530 is not a common attribution in the trade.
