| Obverse description | Central armorial composition featuring three ornate oval shields arranged in a triangular formation: the uppermost shield bears the Nuremberg imperial eagle, the lower-left displays a single-headed eagle, and the lower-right bears the Nuremberg barry-bendy arms. The entire composition is supported on either side by a mermaid (siren) in high relief, each depicted from the waist up with fishtail below, flanking the shields with outstretched arms. The date 1628 appears within the circular legend, which reads MONETA NOVA ARGEN REIP NORIMBERG, separated by pellets, all within a beaded border. |
