Obverse description Central view of the city of Augsburg within a beaded circle, rendered in baroque style with elaborate ornamental scrollwork framing the composition. A winged angel figure appears above the cityscape, while the pine cone — the heraldic symbol of Augsburg — occupies the centre of the design. The date is divided and integrated into the lower ornamental elements of the border.

Reverse description Armoured bust of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand III facing right, with the imperial legend encircling the portrait in Latin. The Salzburg countermark, consisting of the letters and numerals '16S81', has been applied to the coin in 1681 under Archbishop Max Gandolf von Kuenburg, authenticating it for continued circulation within Salzburg territories. The countermark is clearly struck within the field, partially interrupting the original reverse design.
