| Beschrijving keerzijde | Within a beaded inner circle, a procession of bishops is depicted carrying a reliquary box, commemorating the translation of the relics of St. Rupert and St. Virgilius on 24 September 1628. The circumferential Latin legend, reading clockwise from 12 o'clock, records this sacred event. The countermark '16S81' applied by the Salzburg mint in 1681 under Archbishop Max Gandolf von Kuenburg is visible in the field, validating the coin for continued circulation. The reverse composition is rendered in high-relief style consistent with Salzburg baroque medallic art. |
