The "with coat" designation distinguishes this die variety from companion issues of the same year, referring to a specific armorial treatment that differentiates KM#267.2 from KM#267.3 — two dies documented within the same emission, a not uncommon occurrence at the Ensisheim mint where production standards could shift between obverse pairs.
Ensisheim, the administrative seat of Further Austria in this period, operated under considerable Habsburg pressure to fund military expenditure throughout the 1620s.
