The mint master's initials HCB are placed to the lower left and right of the shield. | Descrição do reverso | Standing three-quarter figure of Saint Andrew, the patron saint of the Harz mining region, depicted facing slightly left with a nimbus (halo) behind his head. The saint is draped in flowing robes and leans against the large X-shaped saltire cross (crux decussata) of his martyrdom, which rises prominently behind him. His right hand is extended outward in a gesture of welcome or blessing. The design references the Ausbeute (mining yield) coinage tradition of the Harz region. The circular Latin legend SANCTVS ANDREAS REVIVISCENS — meaning 'Saint Andrew Reviving' — surrounds the figure, punctuated by small star ornaments. |
