| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Ferdinand III, Grand Duke of Tuscany and Elector of Salzburg, rendered in high relief with fine portraiture. The legend, commencing at approximately 7 o'clock, reads in abbreviated Latin for 'Ferdinandus Dei Gratia Hungariae et Bohemiae Regius Princeps, Archidux Austriae, Sacri Romani Imperii Princeps Elector Salisburgensis.' The effigy displays the subject in contemporary attire with a naturalistic treatment characteristic of late Habsburg coinage. |
