| Obverse description | Half-length armoured effigy of Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol facing right, wearing a richly decorated suit of plate armour and a large imperial crown, the right hand raised to hold a sceptre over the shoulder. The figure is rendered in fine Renaissance style with intricate engraving of the armour's surface details and ruff collar. A Latin legend runs around the periphery, separated from the central device by a rope-pattern inner circle and an outer beaded border. |

| Reverse description | Crowned manifold coat of arms displaying the quartered Habsburg territories, with the central escutcheon bearing the bend of Upper Alsace. The collar and pendant of the Order of the Golden Fleece encircles the central shield. Two smaller subsidiary shields flank the composition, that of Habsburg at left and of Ferrette at right, interrupting the surrounding Latin legend. The entire armorial composition is topped by a large ornate crown, and the field is framed by a rope-pattern inner circle and a beaded outer border. |
