Above the cityscape, within clouds, appears a half-length figure of Saint Paul, patron of Münster, holding a sword and book. In the lower exergue, a three-line inscription records the occasion of Westphalia's return to obedience. A lengthy Latin legend in two lines circles the entire coin along the rim, naming the bishop-prince and the year MDCLXI. |
