| Description du revers | A detailed panoramic view of the Herzog August Friedrichsfeld mine (Grube Herzog August Friedrichsfeld) near the Harz mountains is depicted in the central field, showing mine buildings, a headframe, wooden structures, and fir trees extending into the background. At the centre foreground, a tall column is surmounted by a crowned monogram within a wreath, above which celestial clouds and a radiant eye symbol emerge. The arc legend REDEVNT SATVRNIA REGNA — a Virgilian motto meaning 'the Golden Age returns' — curves around the upper field. The lower exergue contains a five-line inscription in German and abbreviated Latin recording the reopening of the mine in Ausbeute (yield/production), concluding with the initials I.B.H. identifying the die engraver. |
