| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Prince Charles August of Nassau-Weilburg facing right, depicted in high relief in the Baroque style, wearing elaborately decorated plate armor with an ornamental gorget and a lace cravat visible at the neck. The hair is rendered in flowing curls in the fashion of the period, falling to the shoulder. The peripheral legend reads CAR. AUG. D.G. PR. NASS. WEILB., divided on either side of the effigy, all within a fine milled border. |

| Reverse description | Ornately shaped eight-fold crowned coat of arms of Nassau-Weilburg displayed within an elaborate Baroque cartouche, supported on either side by rearing lions serving as heraldic supporters, the entire composition raised on a decorative pedestal. The circumferential legend EX. VISCERIBUS. FODINÆ. MEHLBAC. refers to the silver ore extracted from the Mehlbach mine. The date appears at the end of the legend, while the exergue contains the fineness designation FEIN. SILBER and the mintmaster's initials VDK. |
