Reverse description The reverse bears a seven-line Latin commemorative inscription filling the entire field, celebrating the bicentennial jubilee of the Reformation in the city of Brunswick under the auspices of Augustus William, in the fourteenth year of his reign, solemnised on 5 September 1728. The text reads: IN MEMORIAM / IUBILAEI DE REFORMAT. / ECCLES: IN URBE BRUNSV. / SUB AUSPICIIS / AUGUSTI WILHELMI / AUGUSTIS / ANNO REGIM: XIV. / CELEBRATI D. V. SEPT. / MDCCXXVIII. Floral or rosette ornaments appear at the top and bottom of the inscription, with the mint-master's initials H.H. placed below the final line. The design is entirely typographic with no pictorial elements, framed by the reeded border.
