| Beschrijving keerzijde | Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread, set within a beaded inner circle. An orb on the eagle's breast bears the mark '3Z' denoting the Thaler denomination. The circumferential Latin legend names Emperor Rudolf II in his imperial titles, interrupted by the crown above the eagle's two heads. The engraving follows the standard Imperial eagle type of the late Rudolfine period, with detailed feather work and prominent talons. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Lübeck's thalers of this period were struck under the authority of a city that had spent the preceding decades watching its commercial dominance erode. The Hanseatic League, of which Lübeck had long been the leading voice, was fracturing under pressure from Dutch and English competition, and the city's mint output during 1601–1604 partly reflects efforts to maintain monetary credibility as trading relationships quietly collapsed around it.
Behr 130b distinguishes a specific die state within this short emission. The span of just four years for this type is narrow enough that die marriages are limited and pairing mismatches between obverse and reverse dies do occasionally surface in specialist collections.
