| 裏面の説明 | Two standing figures face each other in the field: at left, Saint Peter robed and holding a large key in his raised right hand, identified by the legend S·PETRVS to his left; at right, Saint Paul in classical drapery and holding a sword, identified by the legend S·PAVLVS to his right. Above the two figures, a radiant dove descends with outstretched wings, symbolising the Holy Spirit. In the exergue, the engraver's initials G·H appear above the date 18·03, flanked by a small papal arms escutcheon. The reverse exemplifies the dignified figurative style typical of Papal coinage of the Pius VII period. |
