| Obverse description | Papal coat of arms of Innocent XII displayed within an elaborate Baroque cartouche surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys, all rendered in high relief. The shield bears the Pignatelli family charge of three amphora-style jugs arranged two above one. The arms are framed by richly ornamented acanthus scrollwork with a beaded suspension chain visible at the lower flanks. The circular Latin legend reading INNOCEN·XII· to the right and ·PONT·M·A·IX· to the left runs along the periphery, separated by pellet stops, within a finely toothed border of beads. |

| Reverse description | Central field occupied by a large Baroque cartouche with elaborate acanthus and foliate scrollwork framing a two-line Latin inscription, with the date below. An oval medallion reserve appears at the top of the cartouche, left blank or lightly incuse. The inscription PRÆOCCVPEMVS / FACIEM EIVS, a biblical quotation from Psalm 95, is boldly rendered in capital letters across two lines in the centre of the cartouche, with the date · 1699 · beneath in numerals flanked by pellet stops. The whole is surrounded by a finely toothed beaded border. |
