Obverse description A spread eagle displayed with wings extended and head turned sinister, rendered in relief within two concentric circles. The eagle serves as the heraldic emblem of the Tizzone lordship of Desana. The encircling Latin legend names the issuing ruler, Louis Tizzone, Count of Desana and Imperial Vicar, with abbreviated titles disposed around the inner border. The overall style is characteristic of North Italian hammered coinage of the early sixteenth century.
