| Beschrijving voorzijde | The entire field is occupied by a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold, florid Naskh script, giving the royal titles and name of the sultan. The legend reads the kalima or profession of faith combined with the ruler's titles, arranged in four or five lines within the coin's circular border. The die-struck lettering is raised in high relief against a flat field, characteristic of hammered Bengal Sultanate silver coinage. A plain beaded or rope-pattern border encircles the inscription. The coin exhibits the slightly irregular flan typical of hand-struck issues of this period. |
