| Obverse description | Struck in billon by the hammered technique, the obverse bears a three-line Arabic legend arranged horizontally across the field within a plain border. The inscription reads 'al-Sultan al-A'zam / Sikandar Shah / ibn Muhammad Shah', proclaiming the sultan's royal title and lineage. The script is executed in the bold, angular Naskh style characteristic of late Delhi Sultanate coinage. The flat, unadorned field reflects the austere aesthetic of Sultanate monetary production. Minor die wear and flan irregularities are consistent with hand-struck coinage of the period. |
