Characteristic of early Bengal Sultanate coinage, the script is large and robust, with individual letterforms showing the vigorous, slightly irregular quality typical of hand-engraved hammered dies. The flat, undecorated field emphasizes the primacy of the calligraphic inscription as the sole design element. |
