Obverse description Central field dominated by a bold Tughra-style Arabic inscription rendered in characteristic elongated vertical strokes, a hallmark of the distinctive calligraphic style employed on Bengal Sultanate coinage. The legend reads the royal titles and name of the sultan, Jalal al-Din Muhammad Shah, Sultan, Nasir al-Islam wa'l-Muslimin, Khallada Mallkahu. The sweeping diagonal band of the Tughra divides the field, with secondary inscriptions partially visible to the left margin. The flan is irregular and slightly curved, typical of hammered silver coinage of the period. The overall execution reflects the refined Arabic epigraphy characteristic of Bengal Sultanate monetary art.
