Elaborate foliate and floral arabesque ornaments radiate from the central device, filling the field in the characteristic decorative manner of Portuguese India copper coinage of this period. The flan is irregular in outline, as typical of hammered coinage, with the surfaces displaying the flat, uneven texture consistent with hand-struck copper pieces.
