The host coin's original devices and legends, characteristic of earlier Portuguese India Tanga issues, remain partially visible in the field surrounding the countermark. The countermark was applied by authority of the Portuguese colonial administration in Goa to validate and revalue existing copper coinage in circulation. |

| Popis rubu | The reverse retains the original hammered design of the host Tanga coin, featuring a prominent crowned royal monogram, generally identified as that of Dom Miguel I, executed in a bold calligraphic style at the centre of the field. Elaborate foliate and floral arabesque ornaments radiate from the central device, filling the field in the characteristic decorative manner of Portuguese India copper coinage of this period. The flan is irregular in outline, as typical of hammered coinage, with the surfaces displaying the flat, uneven texture consistent with hand-struck copper pieces. No additional legend or inscription accompanies the central monogram on this face. |
