Obverse description Central device depicts the national emblem of Bangladesh: a water lily (shapla) in bloom rising above stylized rippling water, flanked on either side by curved wheat sheaves. Four five-pointed stars arc above the emblem, with a jute plant motif at the apex. The design is set within a flat octagonal inner border, and the denomination legend ONE TAKA appears in the lower exergue in incuse Latin lettering.
