| Popis líce | The obverse features the elaborate tughra of Sultan Mahmud II rendered in flowing calligraphic style, occupying the upper portion of the field. Below the tughra, Arabic inscriptions in thuluth script record the mint name and the Hijri date 1236. A floral ornament appears in the upper right field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, characteristic of Ottoman-era Tunisian gold coinage. The composition is entirely epigraphic, with no figurative elements, consistent with Islamic numismatic tradition. |
