Obverse description The provincial name ZEELANDIA is inscribed across the field in four lines of bold Roman capital letters, reading 'I S / ZEE / LAN / DIA', with the Middelburg mint mark (a crowned tower) positioned above the first line. The date 1727 appears in the lower field, flanked by pellets on either side. The entire design is surrounded by a reeded or milled border, consistent with the piedfort format. No effigy or additional decorative elements are present; the inscription itself serves as the primary design element.
