| Reverse description | The elaborately quartered royal arms of Denmark are depicted at centre, surmounted by a large crowned royal helmet with flowing mantling to either side, all within an oval cartouche. The multi-quartered shield displays the lions and hearts of Denmark, the lion of Norway, the three crowns of Sweden, and further heraldic charges of the Danish composite monarchy, with a smaller inescutcheon at the centre. The date 1590 is divided to either side of the crown above the helm. A circular Latin legend surrounds the composition reading REGNA·FIRMAT·PIETAS (Piety strengthens the realms), separated by decorative stops, all enclosed within a beaded inner border and a twisted rope outer border. |
