| Reverse description | Elaborate rose-window arrangement of twelve oval shields, each bearing a heraldic emblem of the Danish royal territories, radiating symmetrically around a central crowned shield displaying three passant lions on a field of hearts — the arms of Denmark. The shields represent the various constituent realms and counties of the Danish crown. A vertical sword divides the central composition, and the legend PIETAS REGNA FIRMAT (Piety strengthens the realms) appears within the inner ring of shields. The broad outer legend, in Latin, records Christian IV's ducal and comital titles: DVX SLESVI HOLS STORM ET DITM COMES IN OLDE ET DE, referencing Schleswig, Holstein, Stormarn, Ditmarsh, Oldenburg, and Delmenhorst. The entire design is enclosed by a beaded border. |
