| Beschrijving keerzijde | The celebrated St. George and the Dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci depicts an armoured St. George on horseback, his cloak billowing behind him, thrusting a broken spear downward into a writhing dragon beneath the horse's hooves. The composition fills the entire field with dynamic movement. The date appears in the exergue below the groundline, flanked by the mint mark (M or S) to the left and Pistrucci's engraver's initials B.P. to the right. |
