| Descrizione del rovescio | The central field features Benedetto Pistrucci's celebrated high-relief depiction of Saint George, helmeted and in armour, astride a rearing horse to the right, thrusting a broken lance downward to slay the writhing dragon beneath the horse's hooves. The entire composition is enclosed within the encircling ribbon of the Garter, bearing the motto in raised Latin letters. The engraver's initials B.P. appear in the lower central field on the ground line. The milled border frames the design with fine radial graining. |
