| Obverse description | At center, a crowned shield bearing the Oldenburg arms is positioned over a long-armed cross that extends beyond a beaded inner circle into the legend, dividing the outer inscription into four sections. The heraldic shield is surmounted by a royal crown, rendered in the late Gothic style typical of Danish hammered coinage of the early sixteenth century. The beaded circle frames the central device, while the cross arms terminate at the legend band. The divided obverse legend reading FRED / ERICV / S·REX / DACIE identifies the issuer as Frederik I, King of the Danes. |

| Reverse description | At center within a beaded circle, the shield of Denmark is depicted, bearing the traditional heraldic arms of the realm. Above the shield, a crescent moon and a star are prominently placed as additional heraldic or mint ornaments. The reverse legend, running outside the beaded circle, reads MONE · NOVA · HAFNENS · and concludes with the last two digits of the date, identifying this as a new coinage struck at Copenhagen.
