| 裏面の説明 | Central device depicts a three-quarter facing bust of the celebrated Persian poet and Sufi mystic Jalal ad-Din Rumi (Mawlana), shown wearing a tall turban and traditional robes with a long beard, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. To the left of the bust, within a decorative cartouche, the inscription '800 СОЛ' (800 years) commemorates the 800th anniversary of his birth. The circular legend around the upper rim reads 'ШОИР ВА МУТАФАККИРИ БУЗУРГ МАВЛОНО ҶАЛОЛИДДИНИ РУМӢ' (The great poet and thinker Mawlana Jaloliddini Rumi). The lower rim bears two stars flanking the dates '1207–1273', denoting the years of his birth and death. |

Jaloliddini Rumi — known in the West simply as Rumi — was born in Balkh in 1207, in what is now northern Afghanistan, and spent much of his life in Konya under the Sultanate of Rum. His connection to Tajikistan is primarily linguistic and cultural: the Persian-language literary tradition he represents is central to Tajik national identity, which the post-Soviet state has worked deliberately to reinforce through exactly this kind of commemorative output. The 2007 issue marked 800 years since his birth.
