| Beschrijving voorzijde | Frontal or near-frontal effigy of the Doge Nicolò Marcello in ducal robes, holding a sceptre or staff, rendered in the schematic style typical of late medieval Venetian hammered coinage. The figure is presented in a formal, hieratic manner consistent with the iconographic conventions of the Venetian dogal soldino series.
