| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse depicts a detailed relief of the monumental entrance gate to the Escuela de Oficiales (Officers School) of the Peruvian Air Force, with its distinctive stone pillars and a winged emblem surmounting the archway bearing the inscriptions ESCUELA DE OFICIALES and CAP FAP JOSE QUIÑONES GONZALES. The school's main building façade is visible in the background. The circular legend CENTENARIO DE LA ESCUELA DE OFICIALES FUERZA AÉREA DEL PERÚ arcs along the upper periphery, while the centennial dates 1923 - 2023 are prominently displayed in the lower field. The design is executed in proof finish with frosted high-relief architectural details set against mirror-polished fields. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The Escuela de Oficiales de la Fuerza Aérea del Perú, established in Las Palmas in 1941, trained the generation of pilots who flew during the 1981 Penedonejo border skirmishes with Ecuador and the more sustained 1995 Cenepa War — a conflict in which Peruvian air assets played a decisive and, for Lima, largely favorable role. Commemorative one sol silver issues from the Banco Central de Reserva follow a long-running series honoring Peruvian military institutions, each struck to the same 37mm specification.
KM#440 is a recent addition to that series. Mintage figures for these issues are typically modest.
